Boston Bruins vs St. Louis Blues Prediction & Betting Odds - Stanley Cup FinalPublished June 13, 2019
Series Update – St. Louis Blues win the Stanley Cup for the first time!
The St. Louis Blues won their first ever NHL championship as they beat the Boston Bruins 4-1 in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final on Wednesday night for a surprise 4-3 series win.
Two goals late in the first period put the Blues in control, although a heroic performance from rookie goalie Jordan Binnington was a major factor in their win, as the Bruins dominated for long periods and outshot St. Louis 33-20.
The second St. Louis goal from captain Alex Pietrangelo with just eight seconds remaining in the first period was a hammer blow for Boston, with Brayden Schenn’s goal with 8:35 of the third period left killing their hopes of a late rally.
Ryan O’Reilly (who won the Conn Smythe trophy as the MVP of the postseason), Pietrangelo, Schenn and Zach Sanford scored for St. Louis, while the outstanding Binnington stopped 32 shots.
Boston’s consolation goal came from Matt Grzelcyk with just 2:10 left on the clock, while Tuukka Rask stopped 16 shots. The 2019/2020 NHL regular season will begin on October 4, 2019, with an international game played in Prague, Czech Republic.
The Boston Bruins take on the St. Louis Blues in the Stanley Cup Final 2019, with the Bruins having home-ice advantage for the first game on Monday May, 27.
This will be the Bruins 20th Stanley Cup final and their third appearance in one this decade, having won it in 2011 and finished runners-up in 2013. They will be seeking their seventh title.
The Blues history in the competition is somewhat less illustrious. They appeared in three straight finals from 1968 to 1970, but never prior to then or since. They have yet to win the Stanley Cup, with their last appearance in 1970 ending in a 4-0 series loss to none other than the Bruins.

Boston Bruins vs St. Louis Blues Betting Tips
One potential downside for the Bruins is that they have been off for 10 days since sweeping the Carolina Hurricanes, so could take a little time to find their rhythm again.
Although the Blues have defied all the expert betting predictions and beaten the odds in 2019, home-ice advantage going into the series and more big game experience on the roster makes the Boston Bruins the tips to win the Stanley Cup.
If the Bruins can get off to a winning start in Game 1 on Monday night, we can envisage a 4-1 series win for Boston.
