PowerPlay are currently making a little bit of a name for themselves in the Canadian betting scene as it stands and more and more players are looking to sign-up and start making some money from them.
If you’re looking to take a step away from the big names and place your bets with someone new, then PowerPlay could be for you.
Before recommending the brand to you however, we got our experts to test every aspect of the site. And here’s what they thought…
We love taking a look at a new betting site. It gives us the opportunity to see where the market’s at and what brands are doing to encourage customers to play in a busy marketplace.
PowerPlay are certainly competing, and competing well. We took a look at how the operate from their sign-up offers through to the likes of customer support, the odds they give and simple things such as navigation and the payment methods available to determine whether this site is the one for you.
Anyone’s journey into a new sportsbook begins with what promotions they have and the PowerPlay welcome bonus doesn’t disappoint. That’s because you won’t just earn a free bet from your first bet placed, but your second one too.
Their welcome bonus gives punters the opportunity to claim up to $100 in free bets from their first two bets with a 100% match bonus. You receive up to $50 from your first bet, as a 100% match and exactly the same again when you place your second bet. It’s the gift that keeps giving!
In order to qualify, you must place a minimum of $5 on a sports bet with minimum odds of 3.0 and you’ll receive your free bet. If your first bet is over $50, your free bet will be capped at $50.
While their opening offer is generous to new customers, the majority of their bonuses are much smaller, but they are in abundance. They post new offers regularly, with promotions such as, place X in bets on the NFL and receive a $10 free bet.
These are offered throughout the year and all available on their Offers page. As well as this you’ll find promotions specific to all of the four big sports, as well as soccer, tennis and more. One of the most popular bonus features at the moment is Home Run Sunday, which offers free bets for every home run hit in the MLB.
It’s always worth checking their Offers page as you can really make the most of placing your bets, and if you recommend a friend you can also earn $20 in free bets, although this is lower than a number of other sites.
We can’t really complain about the PowerPlay site itself. It’s of course not as established as the likes of bet365 and William Hill, so is lacking in the likes of live streaming, detailed previews and the like, but their odds are good and it’s a site that is incredibly easy to navigate.
That’s perfect for both new and existing customers. Nothing is too complex and all the main markets and sports can be immediately found on the homepage, meaning most customers really don’t have to travel far at all.
You can adjust your account to change a number of settings, including changing odds types and setting betting limits, while you’ll also find an entire section dedicated to in-play markets.
It’s a site that’s really beginning to thrive, you can tell, and one we’d certainly consider playing with, particularly if there’s an offer that suits the markets you wish to play.
Our Verdict: 7/10
The PowerPlay mobile version is essentially the brand’s entire offering smartly packaged into your mobile browser and works perfectly on up-to-date iOS and Android operating systems.
It’s displayed very similar to its desktop version, with the main markets dominating the homescreen, with quick links to the big four sports, as well as your account settings and more.
A drop down menu offers you a bigger picture, with the ability to navigate to all parts of the site in just a few taps. You really will have no trouble with the mobile version of this site.
PowerPlay comes into its own with the customer support on offer. You can get in touch with them in a large number of ways, including live chat, email, telephone, social media and even through texting them on WhatsApp.
As well as this, you’ll find an FAQs section in which addresses all the main questions and problems people may ask when it comes to sports betting. All of this can be found on their dedicated Support page.
Payment methods are plentiful and all the common ways to deposit and withdraw are available including MasterCard, Visa, Skrill, Neteller, Maestro and ecoPayz.
